LaJala is a proudly Indigenous Australian-owned-and-operated business, that designs, manufactures, and retails women’s nightwear. LaJala is inspired by the serenity of the night, the tales we carry, the adventures we experience, and the pure beauty of the landscape we live, walk and her family.
At LaJala, we understand that a good night's sleep is essential for overall well-being, and we believe that every woman deserves to indulge in unparalleled comfort and style. Lajala’s purpose is to provide women with exceptional sleepwear that prioritizes comfort, elegance, inclusivity, and sustainability, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being and promoting a positive and empowering bedtime experience.
Lajala the Label also seeks to foster a supportive community that celebrates diversity and recognises that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. The brand embraces inclusivity, designing sleepwear to cater to a wide range of body types, empowering women to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.
Meet the founder
Guided by heart, culture, and a deep sense of purpose, Tessa is a woman who moves with intention. A proud Noongar Wiilman woman living on Whadjuk Country (Perth), she is also the founder of LaJala — a brand born from spirit, story, and creativity.
With a background in education and a passion for artistic expression, Tessa began developing LaJala in 2019. After years of research, design, and collaboration, the brand officially launched in 2023.
Inspired by her childhood, her travels across Australia, and the richness of First Nations culture, Tessa created LaJala to bring together comfort and culture—offering sleepwear that celebrates identity, storytelling, and self-expression for everyone to enjoy and be inspired by.
